A Strategic Plan to Develop the Next Generation of an EHS Workforce for High-Technology Industries

The lack of a robust environmental, health and safety (EHS) workforce development plan represents a serious threat to the high-tech sector and jeopardizes the industry's ability to address risks.

  • Seasoned EHS professionals are rapidly approaching retirement age,

  • Highly technical industries rely heavily on specialized knowledge and expertise,

  • Demand for graduates with strong backgrounds in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields is high,

  • Rapid technology changes require new skills and talents, and

  • High-tech industries face stiff competition in the fight for talent.

The development of the next generation of EHS professionals for the high-tech industry is of paramount importance.
